“Last January, I came to Dr. Short with so much pain in my left foot that I could hardly put any weight on it. I have very flat feet. After he examined my foot and I had an MRI, he told me my foot had a ton of arthritis, and to fix this, we could do one of two things. We could fuse it, which I already had a fusion in it from previous surgery, or we could replace my ankle, but he also needed to cut my heel bone and rearrange my bones in the bottom of my foot. Having the ankle replacement would allow me to keep much more movement in my foot. So I decided that’s what I wanted to do. This was an involved surgery. Either way, the recovery would take a while. The surgery went well, and I’m now almost three months away from my first anniversary of this surgery, and I’m grateful to Dr. Short for restoring my ability to walk on that foot again. The ankle works great. Dr. Short has to be one of the best orthopedic surgeons out there. If you need foot surgery, you can be sure to put your trust in him. I would recommend him highly.”
